CLAYTON CLOVERS

Manager - Landry Moore

Coach Moore is a Cleveland High School graduate, class of 2016. He furthered his baseball career at Barton College and Campbell University. Moore is now a teacher at Archers Lodge Middle School here in Clayton, and will be coaching at Cleveland High School this spring. In 2 seasons with Barton, Moore logged 48.1 innings and had 49 strikeouts over 32 appearances. As a member of the Fighting Camels, Moore had 37 appearances in his 3 seasons. In 2019, he compiled a 4-0 record with 5 saves. Moore recorded a save in an NCAA Regional against #15 NC State, and in 2020 was named to the NWCBA Preseason Stopper of the Year Award List. Coach Moore will begin his collegiate coaching journey after an impressive playing career and time gaining experience in the showcase & high school levels. 

Assistant Coach - Chris Power

Chris Power joins he Clovers after most recently coaching at Bunn High School. Bunn went 20-7 and made it to the 4th Round of the NCHSAA playoffs in 2019 during Power's first year on board. Coach Power played a key piece to the program that season as he called pitches and worked directly with the catchers. Power has also coached locally at the high school showcase level since his playing career finished in 2017. Chris played in the United Shores Professional Baseball League as a catcher in 2016 & 2017 for the Eastside Diamond Hoppers. In 2016, Chris was the #17 ranked Independent Professional Prospect. He batted .340 with 2 HR & 5 2B in 37 games. Next year in 2017, he batted .281 with 4 HR and 5 2B. Coach Power is a 2015 graduate of Methodist University. He finished his Methodist career as a 4 year starter with over 160 hits and a .358 average. He was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region team during his senior season in 2015. 


CLAYTON CLOVERS

Director of Broadcasting & Creative Content - Doug Page

Doug Page joins the Clayton Clovers Baseball Club with over ten years of broadcasting experience in the summer collegiate league ranks. Page comes to Clayton after handling the play-by-play duties for the Greeneville Flyboys in Tennessee. The Flyboys captured the 2021 Appalachian League Championship during their inaugural season as a summer collegiate wooden bat program.

Page gained experience broadcasting games in the Coastal Plain League as a member of the Florence RedWolves (2016) and Wilson Tobs (2018). He called many of his games for the Elmira Pioneers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) and Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) from 2009-12 and 2014.

He has also called games at the minor league level, working with the Jamestown Jammers (Short-Season – A Pittsburgh) and Williamsport Crosscutters (Short-Season – A Philadelphia) in 2013 and 2015. His broadcasting experience at the collegiate level started during the 2013-14 season, calling games on CBS Sports Radio for the University at Buffalo women’s basketball program.

Page has worked in athletic communications with several universities dating back to 2015 when he started as an intern with the sports information department at Francis Marion University. He has held various positions with sports information duties at FMU, Salem International, Barton College, East Stroudsburg University, and Tusculum University.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in communications from Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y., in 2012.

PA Announcer & Music Producer - Jeff Garner

Jeff Garner joins the Clayton Clovers Baseball Club with over twelve years of Public Address announcing/sound experience at multiple levels of athletic play including the minor leagues, summer leagues, colleges, and at several high schools.  Garner is a strong, entertaining, and high-energy vocal talent.  He loves athletics and is well-versed in all sports.    Current and past stints for Garner include at N.C. State University, Methodist University, Barton College, Meredith College, Johnston CC, Sandhills CC, the University of Mt. Olive, and Wake Tech CC just to name a few.  Garner has announced for just about every sport over the years including football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, and track and field.  Some of Garner’s favorite times were working at the summer collegiate league ranks for the Holly Springs Salamanders as well as handling sound for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, a Minor League baseball squad in the Carolina League and a Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.   Garner is unique in that he combines both announcing and sound in his duties.  Most announcers do one or the other…but Garner combines them both seamlessly to provide a professional and enjoyable event experience for all ages!  Garner is proud to be recognized as a Certified Sports Public Announcer with the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers since 2016.  He loves what he does because he will tell you that it gives him the chance to incorporate two of his most favorite things in life…athletics and music!    Garner obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, in 1989.  He worked for the State of NC for 25+ years…18+ of those years as an Applications Development Manager.  Garner is currently employed, since 2020, with Xerox in Cary, NC as an Application Support Manager.  Garner has been married to Kelli for almost 30 years.  He has 3 sons…Tyler (25), Hunter (24), and Brayden (17).
